I first got into crypto at the University of Hull in 2010 when my friend Jacky and I ironically bought a few bitcoin thinking of it as some kind of internet-joke-thing. We both got rid of it soon after, but while I totally forgot about it and focused on building a career in television, he kept an eye on the crypto scene and a few years later back home in Hong Kong, he made a small fortune investing in Ethereum. That showed me! These days in addition to my writing and television career, I am now a busy crypto advocate because I believe cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology are a key driver of Nigeria's technological transformation, contributing in no small measure to Africa's unique leapfrogging phenomenon.
